Happy Holidays!

It’s better late than never!

First of all, I’m thanking everyone who’s reading this right now and for the followers who I have no idea where they found me but you found me and it’s really a pleasure to write when you have an audience. So, thank you!

Life is great right now. I started my 2015 with a brand new job that I love. It let’s me play around photoshop all day, 5 days a week. I’ll share the details soon! My mom came home for the christmas for the fist time in years. It was the best christmas ever though now that I think about it, it wasn’t really the christmas that made me feel happy but just being with my mom was a wonderful feeling. Aaanndddd….. something big is coming my way but i can’t talk about it for now. All I can say is it’s definitely not a baby coming! LOL!

In this new year, I wish every thing will be fine. I hope there will be no more plane crashes, massacres, war and all that shit. Although I know it won’t be that way, will never be that way but I’m also someone who believes in miracles so, who knows!

Again, thank you thanks you!

High Ridge Re-Opened

High Ridge before was like a secret best kept by people who likes to hang-out with mother nature. The road was rough, steep and yeah, rough. I have not experienced High Ridge before when it was all but a little cafe overlooking CDO city. Reason being was that they don’t serve alcohol. LOL seriously though, I just wasn’t so interested and nobody really took me there tbh.

So, when i saw the post that it will reopen, i looked at the photos and it was not the High Ridge that i’m familiar with. Instead, it was some fancy resto with fancy lights overlooking the city. It was better than Ultra Winds of course considering it was just in the city so you won’t have to travel that far. Still, I like Ultra Winds more just because it has wider space, more greenery to look at.

Here are some photos of the re-opened High Ridge:

Gig Posters

It’s been roughly two weeks since I have posted some food-ish blog or photography stuff because of my ear infections. It has worsen and the fever and pain that goes along with it made it impossible for me to enjoy a day out of the house. So, I was glad that I was given little tasks at home like making gig posters for local bands playing in my brother-in-law’s bar. At least, I have something to do to take my mind of the pain in both my ears.

I like making posters because I have full control of what is going on unlike photography that you really have to think about technical stuff and most of the time, my good pictures are only “happy accidents”.

Throwback Thursday in Prints

I found these printed pictures last week and it brought me back to the time when I had all the time in the world to do whatever I wanted. Now that I have a son and a life to sort out, my time is very limited. I wanted so much to get out there, travel, photograph people and life in general but I guess that dream has to wait for now.

This prints are taken with point and shoot cameras with uncalibrated laptop so some are too saturated and too bright. It’s funny that back then when I don’t have the “gear”, I have the time to shoot but now that I have a dslr, proper knowledge about photography, I can’t go out and just shoot. The irony of life.

October Weekend

We went to eat at Bowties and Butter, formerly known as Little Miss Funnel Cake. I tasted the best cream toast topped with blueberries and vanilla icecream. Although I must admit, I am not a foodie, this little food trip made my tummy soul smile. I paired the toast with Coffee Viet something. I stayed awake for the rest of the night.

We then had beer at Daru which is a country styled cafe with live band. We got kinda bored because they play really old songs. This place though is like a secret gem of the city. Oldies will surely enjoy their time.

My Sister’s Birthday

We had Thai food last night for my sister’s birthday. She is the most awesome sister ever! Kind-hearted, family oriented and very loving. I look up to her all of my life.

The place is called Siam Krua Thai. This is  also the same restaurant where she and her husband got married. They are big fans of thai food that her husband even asked to have a picture with the resto’s chef who is thai. Me on the other hand, loves to travel to Thailand(it has been my dream) but I still can’t appreciate the food because it’s all new to my taste buds.

Here are some photos that our little brother took because I was busy with the baby 🙂

Rainy Days

We went swimming last Saturday. Me and the family. It was raining for the past week and so the search for comfort food and caffeinated what-nots are spot-on. My brother-in-law who owns some ventures in Corrales Avenue told us about this mobile coffee located in front of his resto. It was something new and something different in CDO but it resembles mobile coffee and mobile bagel in the US specifically in New York thus the name New York Traveller’s Coffee.

On Sunday, we were supposed to go up the mountains but it rained so hard we were stuck in the city which is really frustrating. I was supposed to take my day 5 of the 30 Day Photography Challenge there. So, we went to some place cozy and had sweets instead.

Birthday 2014

It was a sweet day, very well spent with friends and loved ones. No dramas whatsover. Now, I just want to cuddle with the sheets because I’m totally spent.
I wanna contemplate a little bit about how amazing it is to deliver new life into the world. I remember lying in the hospital table getting stitched and i asked the doctor why she chose to be a vaginal doctor and she said something like how magical it is to witness a new life comming out from another life. It truly is beautiful and magical. So, many thanks to my mom who endured unimaginable pain that women has to go through to give life.

Pre-birthday Blues

So, today started out great because of a little surprise from my cousin who is working overseas. This afternoon on the otherhand is nothing but shit. No need for details because it all but shows my selfishness which makes today even more shittier. I am an optimistic person in nature but nothing will break me more than raging hormones mixed with post episodes of anxiety and a little pre-birthday blues.

Bob indeed made my mood a degree lighter than a few minutes ago.
